Lucy’s Winter Dating

Lucy’s Winter Dating

Is it just me or do the days, weeks, months drag when it comes to Autumn/Winter? I guess that’s why people always say winter is “dating season”… why is that? So you’re not alone on the cold winter nights? So you can happily consume as much food as possible and know they are not allowed to judge you, so you get extra presents at Christmas??

I’ve had a good think about this, and I truly believe people want a “winter boyfriend/girlfriend” not for the sake of it and my reasons above…but because…well…it really is the most wonderful time of the year! There’s something about Christmas in London that I can’t get enough of – the lights, the fashion, the terrible carols they play in Boots, the overflow of Christmas events and markets, and the greatest feeling of love! Why wouldn’t you want to share that with someone? I think that’s what I love about the Clocked app, it finds you matches based on your goals and compatibility.

So lets remember this year Londoners…. a relationship is not just for Christmas…its for life! And before you ask…yes me and Mr X are still dating (Ah!), we’re off to the Shoreditch German Christmas market this weekend…I’ll keep you posted.

Lucy’s Dating Challenge, Week One.

Lucy’s Dating Challenge, Week One.

Where do I begin! Last week was certainly was a week of firsts!

So as you know I have taken on this Clocked dating challenge. Woke up on Monday and just thought sod it…come at me dating world! Downloaded the app (which is free may I add)…spent a good hour deciding on my interests and likes… lets not even bother mentioning how long it took for me to choose the perfect profile picture (I have no regrets!) and well…began with my 3 daily suggestions!

I’ll be honest with you the three suggestions were not a success – did I mention I’m incredibly fussy – so onto Tuesday! Woke up, did the standard morning routine of checking every form of social media on my phone… then I came to the Clocked app! First suggestion… a quick no, suggestion number two…mayyyybe and then came along suggestion number three! Hello! And then as one over thinking London girls does, I panicked! Do I clock him? What if he doesn’t clock me back? Oh the stress!

So what did I do with…lets call him Mr X? … I clocked him! And…he clocked me back! Yes Girl! Hallelujah!

What happened next I hear you say? There was a moment of silence for while and then he messaged me! We started talking and planned to meet at the Clocked event at The Little Yellow Door in Notting Hill the next day! Was I nervous? I was terrified!

So off I popped, a nervous wreck, to the event.  It was surprisingly a really chilled environment with cocktails and food flowing and Mr X (yes he showed up!) was quite simply lovely! We ordered some food and laughed the whole night…mainly at my disastrous eating skills (why I decided to order a burger is beyond me) was it a success? Lets just say we are meeting again next week!

Fingers Crossed!

My Naughty Little Secret..

My Naughty Little Secret..

For a big city, London sure is small. The amount of people…exes…I bump into is quite something! Why these encounters always seem to happen when I’ve forgotten my umbrella or decided to get changed in the dark I’ll never know. Someone in heaven is finding this too funny.

So how does one avoid these Armageddon moments? I’ve tried going out in different locations –  I once ventured to Brixton – but well, lets just say my confidence levels are not that strong when it comes to approaching the opposite sex on a night out, no matter how many cosmos I have demolished or the sultry diva I think I have evolved in to!

I want the opportunity to get to know someone first, chat to them, find out if we could be compatible or not without having to venture into the wilderness! Listen, I’ve tried the obvious dating apps, but I just kept being chucked with anyone and everyone. I want (wanted) something that could actually find me someone that;

1. Lived in London

2. Actually had the same interests as me.

Enter…Clocked! Clocked have given me a challenge to use their App, and well…to find love!

Well Clocked…challenge accepted! First stop…a dinner party hosted by them at The Little Yellow Door tonight…wish me luck!

Love Lucy x
